STEVE HOWELL - DRUMS
Steve Howell, a Sarasota resident since the age of 12, cut his teeth in his teen years drumming in bands that featured his brother Mike on bass. He was the drummer for the Pat Ramsey Band from 1986 to 1992, and The Blues Disciples from 1997 to 2001, and then from 2004 to 2008. Steve recorded with Coco Robicheaux in the early 2000’s, and toured with him in France and at the 2000 New Orleans Heritage Jazz Festival. Other recording credits include: Crosscut Saw, "Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know", Pat Ramsey & The Blues Disciples, "Live at the Grand" and " Live At The Big Bend Blues Bash " . Steve is co-writer for "Allergic To Work” (written in 1981 ) & Build Me A Women (written in 1998), two songs featuring Pat Ramsey played on blues radio channels Worldwide . Steve has had the pleasure of playing behind some of the greats like Eddie Kirkland , PineTop Perkins , Henry Gray , Johnny Marshall , Bruce Katz , Julien Kasper Band , Bill Wharton , Jason Ricci, Derrick Trucks ( at 13 years of age) , Stephen Stills , Motor City Josh & the Big Three and many more. |
